Revamped Natural Sandstone Patio
- Digby Opulence Colonial paving
We transformed this garden patio in Cowley, Oxfordshire, using one of our finest natural stone paving ranges: Digby Opulence. The project involved replacing a main rear patio and installing a separate paved area by an outbuilding, as well as providing full drainage around the perimeter.
The homeowners, Mr & Mrs M., wanted a natural stone look to their new patio, expressing a fondness for Indian stone. We suggested the Digby Opulence range of paving stones due to its hard wearing and subtle textures, as well as the wide choice of colours available. After visiting our Oxford garden centre to browse samples, the homeowners chose the popular Colonial colour paving stones.
Our installation team excavated and disposed of the old patio, installing the new paved area inside an already walled enclosure. Due to the low level of the main patio, we installed drainage by way of rain water channels against the rear boundary wall. We then connected the drainage to a new soak away hidden beneath the nearby flowerbed. We were able to hide the drainage channels by installing them slightly below the paving and covering them with loose shingle.
Finally, we installed a separate paved area next to the outbuilding. This included a large area of decorative gravel to one side of the area, separated from the lawn on two sides by existing wooden beams.
