Pavestone Tudor Cathedral Limestone Patio
Replace concrete path to rear of the property with a new limestone patio
- Pavestone Tudor Cathedral Limestone paving - 30m2
This patio project in Oxford called for an overhaul of a side path and garden. Here's how we created a lovely new limestone patio in 5 days.
The homeowners wanted their new patio to have an “established” feel, rather than anything flashy. We therefore recommended Pavestone Tudor Antique Cathedral paving slabs, with its range of oranges, buff and light grey colours. These slabs blend in sympathetically with the house and garden for an unfussy look.
Our installation team first had to remove and dispose of the old side path, as well as dig up the lawn. We then replaced the old steel manhole covers with two recessed manhole covers. This allowed the team to continue the pattern uninterrupted while leaving easy access to both manholes. We therefore had to cut a handful of paving slabs creatively to fit around the metal rims.
The next step was to lay mortar across the entire paved area, before carefully laying out a mixture of small and large slabs. Ranging from 900x600mm to 300x300mm, the slabs create an attractive pattern when mixed together. Finally, we left a narrow bed of sail between the finished patio and the lawn to finish off the project neatly.
