It was out with the rotten old timber sleepers and in with the neat new masonry walling for lasting structure and style at this Yarnton property.

Starting by removing the rotten and weather-worn wooden sleepers that made up the retaining walls for the client’s front and rear gardens, our Landscaping team could see there were a few challenges to overcome with this job. They do love a landscaping challenge!

The trick wasn’t just to reinstate the retaining walls to their former position using new masonry walling and concrete foundations but it was also to negotiate the sloping garden’s various changes in level and to complete the job without disturbing the existing artificial grass lawn. Our landscaping team carefully covered the grass area and worked around it, and the undulations in the land, to achieve the pristine finish revealed in our photos (below).

The fresh new walls consisted of 3000 Bekstone Tumbled walling stones in a beautiful buff colour that echoes the main building. In just 20 days, this Oxfordshire property boasted walls that look great and do a fantastic job of zoning the garden and front drive with flower beds and walkways.
